*Review*
There’s been a couple of attempts before to compile alternate configurations of the ‘Come’ album, whether based on supposed ‘original configs’ or session tracks and all these with varying levels of success. This DFB take on things seems to concentrate more on session tracks from that era that were either rejected or ended up on ‘The Gold Experience’. Upon the first listen through, the first thing that strikes you is the quality and this isn’t just down to it using studio tracks. Everything has been tweaked and enhanced somewhat and sounds amazing for it. In addition, some subtle mixing has been done on a couple of the tracks and also during the transitions between songs, adding to the whole flow of the album.
You could argue forever over which tracks should/should not have been included and I guess it all boils down to personal choice and certainly, if your not particularly fond of the ‘Come’ album, then this would serve as the last hope of convincing you otherwise. Overall, a solid attempt at something ‘new’ and worth grabbing if you’re a fan of that era.
